Admissions Process

CMS accepts students throughout the school year based on available classroom space. Here’s how it works:

PARENT’S VISIT

We encourage both parents to visit the school. When you visit, you will meet the director of admissions, tour the facility, and have an opportunity to observe children in their daily learning activities in the classroom. This is a good time to learn more about the Montessori teaching philosophy, and how attending CMS will benefit your child. For a more in-depth look at the calm and peaceful process of learning in a Montessori classroom, we encourage you to set up a time to observe.

APPLICATION

Based on space availability, we accept applications throughout the year for immediate or future enrollment. Pending a review of the application, you will receive a letter of acceptance and an enrollment agreement; your child’s space will be reserved upon receipt of the signed enrollment agreement. If the program for your child’s age is full, your child may be placed on a wait list until a space becomes available. Click here for an application form.

CHILD’S VISIT

Before your child starts school at CMS, we will contact you to set up a time for you and your child to visit. This provides an opportunity to meet the teacher and become familiar with the classroom, as well as to ease the transition. The Chesterfield Montessori School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance programs and any school-administered programs.
